Your audition will have three steps.

Step 2: Do Your Research and decide if Beatrice Christian Academy is right for your family.

Step 3: Decide if it's the right time for your child to begin their Hero's Journey at Beatrice Christian Academy.

First, devour the Acton Academy Website; drink deeply from the Acton Academy Elementary school blog and Parent blog.

We also ask you to read Unschooling Rules by Clark Aldrich or to watch Jeff Sandefer's TEDx talk.

4. How did you find out about Beatrice Christian Academy? Is there anyone in our community who you would like us to ask about your audition?*
5. What school(s) has your child attended?*
6. As a parent, are there areas where you have concerns or special attention your child may need to prosper, especially if it’s an area of growth your child’s previous teachers may mention when we contact them?*
Third,

Four types of parents struggle at Beatrice Christian Academy in ways that are not helpful for their families:
1. Those who treasure social prestige and really prefer a traditional education.
2. Those who are "blamers" and ultimately will gossip and criticize, no matter what.
3. Those who aren't sure their child is ready yet for the responsibility and struggles -- and occasional tears -- of truly independent learning (and may be right.)
4. Those who are not committed to a Hero's Journey for themselves.
Given how far you have come in this process, it is unlikely any of these apply to you or your spouse. But because talking to others in your former educational community is an important part of our audition process, we’d like to ask you to submit a two minute video describing how being in our community might play a part in your personal Hero’s Journey and how a teacher/principal at your child’s school or a close friend would honestly and frankly describe how you and your spouse might soar and struggle as a parent in a non-traditional educational format.
